Alyssa Ast is an experienced Arizona based freelance writer, journalist, author, SEO/SEM, web developer and social marketing specialist, who enjoys working from the comfort of her home office. Alyssa works for many online companies and private clients, fulfilling their need for quality content, social marketing and developing their online business needs. Using her SEO and SEM knowledge, Alyssa optimizes traffic to online content and websites-- increasing traffic, search engine ranking and profit potential.
Alyssa is also the co-founder of the Wakening Media, which she started with fellow freelance writer and author Angela Atkinson. Currently, the Wakening Media consists of four sites: the WM Freelance Writer's Connection, the WM Parenting Connection, the WM Pet Connection, and the WM Review Connection. This little side project has grown tremendously over the past few years and with more plans to expand!
Although Alyssa thrives in the freelance writing world, her true passion is journalism. Alyssa previously contributed to the local newspaper, the Kingman Daily Miner, as a citizen journalist covering local and state-wide parenting issues and concerns. She also wrote for the Flagstaff Examiner, contributing content regarding parenting teenagers and the Phoenix Women's Examiner, covering important aspects in the lives of women.
Alyssa Ast not only enjoys the world of freelance writing, but the world of creative writing as well. Alyssa published her first book The Fundamentals of SEO for the Average Joe in 2010. Alyssa's goal with her book is to give back to the writing community by assisting aspiring writers with their writing journey and aiding website and small business owners. She also has numerous other creative projects underway, expanding her experience as an author.
